Retail/Swipe Solution
The Need
The Client, a heavy equipment dealer and parts re-seller, wanted a Credit Card payment solution that would offer more than just payment processing capability. The client communicated their custom requirements to Skipjack Professional Services, including a secure customer lookup function so that the Client could bill returning customers without forcing the customer to present their credit card. As well, the Client desired to obtain the best possible interchange rates available for the large ticket purchases made when selling its heavy equipment.
The Solution Skipjack designed, built and deployed a solution that included a customer lookup feature that allowed the Client to search Skipjack’s secure database for returning customers based upon selected criteria, while keeping the customers’ information secure. In addition, Skipjack designed the interface to collect the necessary data required for the Client to reach Level III transaction status and thus achieve the best possible interchange rates offered by their merchant account provider.
The Results The Client was able to decrease customer order processing times by using the customer lookup feature on the application. Using this functionality increased customer satisfaction and improved the accuracy of accounting data collected. As well, by qualifying for Level III interchange rates, the Client experienced significant savings in Credit Card processing fees.
